Løgstør is a small town in North Jutland in Denmark, most famous for clams and its long canal.
If you feel like getting away from all the noise and stress in your daily life then Løgstør is just perfect. Its got small shops and everything you might need, but you can also enjoy nature, go for walks, bike past cows, sheep and horses.
Biking in the countryside in Løgstør makes you feel like you are a part of a movie. The green fields, cows and silence is just amazing.
The town has a 4,4 km long canal running along side it. The canal was built between 1856 and 1861. The trails on both sides are popular for walks and running.
The town is also famous for clams. There are even a few festivals every year dedicated to clams, like the clam harvesting festival in the spring.

Hos Tetzlaff – Great Danish burgers and sandwiches.
Kanalfogedens – Gourmet restaurant next to the famous canal.
Kulgaarden – Only open during summer. It has a great view of the canal.
Sightseeing
The canal – You can’t visit Løgstør without seeing the canal.
Limfjord museum – The museum is about the maritime cultural history, especially about Limfjorden.
The beaches – There is a long and beautiful beach next to the canal, and there is also one called Lendrup where many people camp.
Livø – An island located near Løgstør. There are boats going back and forth during the summer. This is a historical island where they used to send prisoners. You might get to see seals on this island. On the dock before you leave for Livø there is a shop selling the best “Stjerneskudd”, which is toast with fried fish, fresh shrimp and a dressing on top.
