These sugar free healthier brownies are great when those sugar cravings start during the week. This is a very simple recipe with ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen, which makes them perfect to whip up quickly on a weeknight. The only special ingredient is the dates which is what makes the brownies sweet.
I was really amazed by how good and sweet these brownies were considering that there is no added sugar at all. If someone had told me that these brownies contained sugar I would have believed them.
Sugar free brownies

The baking tray should be 20x30cm.
Ingredients
- 120 ml flour
- 120 ml cacao
- 20 dates
- 100 ml boiling water
- 100 ml melted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
- Pour the boiling water over the pitted dates. Let them soak for a few minutes.
- Add the dates and water to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add a little more water if it is difficult to blend.
- Mix the flour and cacao.
- Add the pureed dates, melted butter, eggs and vanilla.
- Pour the batter into a lined baking tray.
- Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes on 175 degrees Celsius. Make sure you don't bake it too long i order to keep the brownies chewy.
