Chocolate chip cookies are the best. Now that it’s fall I thought it would be nice to make them with spices. The great thing about this recipe is that you don’t need a lot of different types of spices, you only need chai tea and cardamom.
These cookies are filled with flavor and are definitely my new favorite dessert this fall.
Chai spiced chocolate chip cookies

Makes about 18 cookies.
Ingredients
- 100 g butter
- 90 g brown sugar
- 50 g white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 egg + 1 yolk
- 200 g flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 80 g chocolate
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp cardamom
- 2 chai tea bags or 2-3 tsp chai tea.
Instructions
- Melt the butter.
- Mix the butter and sugar with a hand mixer.
- Mix in vanilla and eggs.
- Add flour, baking soda and spices. The dough should be firm enough to be able to form little balls.
- Fold in the chopped chocolate.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes at 175 degrees Celsius. Make sure you don't bake them too long in order to keep them chewy. They won't look done when you take them out of the oven.
